Summer in the city is unique. You see a lot of people. Some are friendly. Some are not. On June 21st 2011, during the Make Music New York day’s festivities (www.makemusicny.org), I was lucky enough to capture a stellar band playing their unique blend of post punk, rock and pure noise. Oh, and a lot of classical horn. Their name is Quilty and this is what they do.

Tenor Saxophone player Clarence Clemons died June 18th 2011 of complications from stroke. Best known as E Street Band member and Bruce Springsteen’s kissing partner, feat they performed at the end of all their shows during the 1980′s, Clarence was born January 11th 1942.

We wanted to take time to send our condolences to his family, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He will be missed but we can rest assured that Clarence Clemons has just learned to fly.
